FAQs....
How do I get there?
-We are located in Sharpsburg, Ga. At 3935 Highway 34 East.
Where do I park?
All parking is on the church property and there is designated visitor parking located near the entrance of our Beautiful Facility.
What do I bring?
Bring yourself and maybe a Bible, if you wish to follow along with the readings on your own.
When do I need to arrive?
Our First Sunday Morning Service begins at 9:00 am and the second Worship service follows at 11:00am. Our Midweek Encounter is on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm. Come a few minutes early to park, meet and greet, and stop by the Welcome Center if you wish.
What do adults wear?
You are welcome to wear whatever you are comfortable in. Members often describe the dress at SMM as "business casual," but some people wear their "Sunday Best," while others are more casual.
What do children wear?
Children should wear comfortable clothes. During City Kidz they may spend time playing on the carpeted floor, or working with art supplies.
Do I have to check in at the Welcome Center?
Our Welcome Center is staffed by a Hospitality team member and is designed to help you feel welcome on your first visit to SMM. We offer a free gift for you and your family along with information packets on various topics, general church information, and copies of newsletters. While we would love for you to visit the Welcome Center, we respect that you may prefer to attend our service in private.
What is the service like?
The 9:00 am & 11:00 am worship services are contemporary services with praise and worship, prayer time and a powerful word spoken by our Senior Pastor Allan Mathura.
Music
We are privileged to have a live band and orchestra to lead our music. The words to most all of the praise and worship songs as well as the choir songs appear on the overhead screens. Feel free to join in singing if you like.
Sermon
Our pastor delivers a dynamic sermon each week, with occasional guest speakers. Sermons are sometimes based on a theme that may span several messages, but also most times there are those that will stand on their own. Feel free to visit the Sermon section of this site to listen to our past sermon archive.
Tithe & Offering
Tithe and offering is taken up during the service, but you do not have to feel obligated to give. We do like to encourage it, however, because we believe that you will be greatly blessed. Do not feel though that you would be the only one not placing anything in the offering plate, since many of our members give monthly or some others even schedule their giving and do not place an offering in the plate each week.
Communion
On the first Sunday of the month we partake in Holy Communion. You do not need to be members of South Metro Ministries to participate nor do you need to feel obligated to participate.
May our child stay with us during the service?
Of course, but children are also invited to attend our Children's Worship which is held in the upstairs part of our Family Life Center during the worship hour. A nursery is also provided for ages 0-2½.
Is your church accessible to people in wheelchairs?
Yes. We have handicapped parking spaces as well as handicap restrooms. Also, an usher would be more than happy to fix the chairs in the sanctuary where a wheel chair user can sit along side others in a pew without feeling in the way or on display.
